>A cargo ship abandoned in the Gulf of Aden after an attack by Iran-backed Houthis is taking on water and has left a huge oil slick, in an environmental disaster that US Central Command said Friday could get worse.
>Rubymar, a Belize-flagged, British-registered and Lebanese-operated cargo ship carrying combustible fertilizer, was damaged in a Sunday missile strike claimed by the Yemeni rebels.
>Its crew was evacuated to Djibouti after one missile hit the side of the ship, causing water to enter the engine room and its stern to sag, said its operator, the Blue Fleet Group.
>A second missile hit the vessel’s deck without causing major damage, Blue Fleet CEO Roy Khoury told AFP.
>CENTCOM said the ship is anchored but slowly taking on water and has left an 18-mile oil slick.
>“The M/V Rubymar was transporting over 41,000 tons of fertilizer when it was attacked, which could spill into the Red Sea and worsen this environmental disaster,” it said in a post on X, formerly Twitter.
1. This sucks.
2. I want to make a Greenpeace getting involved joke but I know it’s too early and not enough of my fellow Americans are awake yet to appreciate it. 😕
Second example of ecocide this week! Humans just don’t fucking care anymore.
Disaster in the region. That’s the important part. If Houthis want Yemen to suffer even more than it does already, then I am all for it. This entire region already hates Europe and democratic counties in general anyway. They are doing f around now, let’s see how they like find out phase.

Sagging is when the middle sinks. Hogging is when the bow or stern sinks. For more, listen to the Naval History Podcast
Remember that abandoned oil tanker that threatened to break up? The Houthis were the ones who badly delayed the response by *years* because they wanted huge bribes, along with all the oil. Environmental concerns are very much not concerns to these fuckwits.
Indigenous #freedomfighters are not capable of creating environmental disasters
Will Greta condemn this? Or will she support terrorism over the environment? Stay tuned.
So they are threatening the welfare of their own sea and coastline. Genius move. Maybe they should be the ones responsible for cleaning it up.
Wow who would’ve guessed if we blow up a ship in the water what would happen???🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Isn’t this ship #2?
The appeasement of evil continues. WW3 ain’t far behind.
As much as this is obviously primarily the Houthis fault for, well, both attacking the ship and preventing an emergency response to the aftermath…
The rest of the world is seemingly trying to pretend that this isn’t the reality and is still sending a ton of ships right past Yemen on the way to/from the Suez Canal. Of course they are gonna take shots at anything we put close to them. They have made their intentions very clear.
The world needs to accept this reality and either greatly increase its military response to the Houthis and regain control here… or accept the new status quo and deal with the cost of moving cargo around either cape of good hope or Cape Horn. (I am excluding the Panama Canal because of the capacity problems at that canal)
These terrorists should be wiped away from the face of earth.
Saudis better pick up the pace.
Remember, no UN ceasefire was ever suggested on the Houthies
Its shows how hipocrite they are
