  1. *Hi everyone, last year I hiked 110 miles from London (Westminster Bridge) to the south coast over 7 days, ended up in Portsmouth. Was a nice journey that I did in stages. This year I’d like to take things further by going back to Portsmouth and catching a ferry to Cherbourg in France and hiking along the Normandy coast for charity if all goes to plan.

I wanted the journey to be an enjoyable one so I went for a scenic route to the south coast that had good views. I followed the River Thames path to Weybridge, then followed the River Wey navigation towpath to Guildford. Took a little detour along the North Downs Way before going back alongside the River Wey to Godalming. Then went via Thursley Common & Devils Punchbowl to Hazlemere, then via Blackdown, Midhurst, South Downs Way. I arrived at the coast at Langstone, and hiked onto Hayling Island and along the coast to Portsmouth.

If interested I also created a narrated film of London to the south coast that can be seen here 👉 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-L0IQ-y3bU cheers 👍
