I have a pair of them, amongst others. Love seeing them bop about. Love the looks they give you. Except they poo on my car when I don’t feed them.
Quoth the raven – eat my shorts!
I love blackbird song. I too have a lone male that visits daily. Such a special sight, glad you have found your own visitor. They get used to the routine very quickly!!
Mines called Dave, although six years on I’m pretty sure this is now Dave the Second as Dave and partner did bring an offspring down a few years back so now I have this new Dave to feed, cheeky Bugger will sit opposite front door and squawk till I feed the birds and in autumn he’s even approached an open front door to end up on the ledge having a look about inside… can’t get the robins as friendly tho, and me cat knows and leaves the ‘local’ birds alone. Woodpidgeons or Magpies tho even starlings she’ll scare off
I’d watch my back if I was you. Government drone is trying to keep tabs on you r/birdsarenotreal.
Blackbirds tend to be a table top feeder as they don’t have the talons for traditional hangers. I suggest you get a hanger as well and welcome the blue tits etc to that, they will drop things for the blackbird (and possibly robins) and enjoy
I love hearing their songs. Very nice to listen to in the afternoon.
You better hope crows don’t show up, or it will be bloody murder.
That’s George. All male blackbirds are called George.
Handsome lad you’ve got there. Keep it up and the youngsters will be along soon. Get those mealworms ready.
A couple of years ago I started feeding a blackbird in the local park, the odd tidbit of cheese, ham or a crumb of bread. After a few weeks he was flying to me everyday, landing at my feet, chattling away until fed. Flying away and then coming back for more – so he was feeding the youngsters.
Gorgeous. My mum was known as the bird woman of our estate. The door would knock with any flying friend who had fallen , had been attacked by a cat, etc. the sound of their wings in small shoe boxes still haunts me. I love the sounds of the dawn chorus, keeps me awake at the right time.
When I put up a feeding station in my garden I got a really cute pair of doves and a gang of delinquent juvenile magpies. So results may vary…

That’s awesome! Sounds like you’ve got yourself a new feathered friend in the making.
Stop now, trust me birds become very tame very quick. Before you know it that “handsome chap” will be tapping on your window at 3:30am wanting food.
You will have a collection of feeders before long. I live near a big woodland area so I see all sorts of birds every day. I find it calming.
I too have a favourite [Blackbird](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/97/Lockheed_SR-71_Blackbird.jpg).
