An AWACS isn’t exactly what I would consider a spy plane, but whatever
The cost doesn’t matter… If could b £1, £250m, or £1gazillion…
What matters is that Russia only has a very few of them, and can’t produce any more, nor can they produce anything similar.
Supposedly they had 8, and now they have 7… These are old, tired, planes, and keeping constant radar coverage with that few is murder on the equipment… Every one Ukraine destroys is priceless.
Is a major blow? Putler stole almost 20% of Ukraine and ain’t nowhere near to stopping.
