  1. “It’s going to disappear. One day, it’s like a miracle, it will disappear.”

  2. I was an unvaccinated kid. I got Measles as a high school sophomore. It absolutely sucked. When I was able to, I got my full schedule of vaccines and My kid is fully vaccinated.

These people are dedicated to bringing a disease that we had nearly eliminated back.

  3. What a shockingly criminal negligent act from the Gov and SG, that they are willing to sacrifice their state children to their lunacy. I will bet though that their own children/family are fully vaccinated. Can’t the DoJ or Feds do nothing for this travesty of an administration. They should be dismissed from power and straight away prosecuted for criminal negligence.

  4. Coworker of mine came back from vacation with what he called “jet lag.” Was complaining of a rash too so he went to the doctor and it was the fucking measles.

Said he felt like a zoo animal because his doctor brought in other doctors to see him because they’d never seen a case before. This wasn’t that long ago.

  5. Morons like this guy should have their medical license rescinded. WTF?

  6. Let’s see how Desantis scolds kids and blames Democrats for this.

  7. Morons in Florida again, seems these idiots are always showing up with some brain dead move. Competing with Alabama. One thing is clear, republicans hire the stupidest fucks in the state.

  8. Can’t wait for them to start blaming Biden for this.

  9. The Surgeon General has no business holding that job. In any other country he’d be removed and sacked from the public health service.

  10. We need to build a wall to keep these dirty diseased Floridians away from us

  11. Anti-vax morons that seems to forget in the ’80s. Everybody took their vaccines cuz they knew they worked now everything’s a damn conspiracy theory to these mouth. Breathers

  12. Gee, if only there was a readily available, rigorously studied and highly effective measure that could prevent measles outbreaks from happening by allowing an individual to develop immunity without risk to themselves or others.

    If only…

  13. Good. Sorry to say but this may lead to an awakening on vaccines and why they are important. Misinformation and culture wars have left people too stupid and mentally feable to realize the harm they are causing their own children. If an outbreak of something so preventable causes many deaths or disfigurements then maybe more can be saved

It’s sad. It’s uncalled for but measles maybe the hero we didn’t know we needed.

  14. It’s so fucking sad to me that this medical story is on /r/politics…

  15. Vaccines are a major scientific and Medical breakthrough to see so many Americans who now see Vaccines as evil and willing to risk the lives of there children and others is sickening.

  16. If only there was a simple way to become immune to measles!

Fucking idiots. Vaccines should be mandatory unless you are allergic or have medical issues. We live together, we have a duty to keep each other safe because we depend on each other.

If you want to go live in the woods or on an island alone you can do whatever you want. If you live in a modern society do your part.

  17. I spent 2 summers, (1975 & ‘76), as a youth volunteer with Amigos de las Americas. Months of training in vaccination technique, first aid, Spanish, culture, and more, Amigos then was solely about equipping me for a 6 week field assignment in vaccinating kids against Measles, Polio, and other devastating childhood diseases. In ‘75 I was in Nicaragua. In one remote town going door to door to folks’ houses giving Measles and Polio vaccine and at one stop saw a kid who’d had Measles. I won’t detail the horrific condition I saw this poor child suffering with. That night I broke down sobbing. It horrifies me still to think anyone can be anti-vax. I’ve personally seen the tragic results of what a Measles infection can do to a kid.

  18. I want to add pregnant women who get measle…. my dad his mom was pregnant with him an she caught measles…now..this was before there was a vaccine

when he was in his mid 20’s he had to have open heart surgery to fix a blocked valve that was caused by his mother having mealses when she was pregnant with him

my uncle (his brother) knew something wasn’t right because when my dad would exert himself he would turn blue

  19. If it wasn’t for the fact that this idiocy will affect babies, pregnant women, and those with compromised immune systems, I’d entertain the perverse desire to see how bad it will get and how quickly.

  20. Measles. You mean the measles that we have had a vaccine for, and that most places even lump it in with the vaccine for mumps and rubella and require children to have it before being able to attend grade school, that measles?

what the fuck are these idiots going to bring back next, smallpox?

  21. The worst part about this is the parents of these kids are most likely immunized and didn’t have to fear going through this shit. Anti-vaxxers are delusional selfish scum.

  22. Florida is trying to fight off measles? What fucking year is it?

  23. Desantis’ Florida is reminiscent of a third world country run by a superstitious dictator.

  24. Let me guess…. being in favor of immunizations is also WOKE? Stupid fucking assholes.

  25. Canceled my plans for a June-July Space Coast vacation. Heading to Maine. Fuck you Florida… my daughter really wanted to see a rocket launch

  26. ahh Florida! where ignorance has replaced oranges as the top cash crop!

  27. We’re reading about a Measles outbreak in the 2000s under a political subreddit.

So much human progress, typically ruined by a deeply stupid minority. Again.

  28. If only we had something that prevents people from getting measles

  29. Oh dear what could possibly go wrong in a heavily populated state that has been conditioned by both federal and state governments to be distrustful of vaccines….

… well I hate to say it but Trump was right. It’s time to build a wall.

  30. Everyone of these mothers that lost their kid or have their kid come to serious harm will post to their Facebook groups asking if they did the right thing by not vaccinating and the group will tell them yes…
