Hello there,
I’m not very familiar with the color coding of old buildings.
I assumed pink = live, yellow = neutral?
And on the lamp side brown = live, blue = neutral
Something must be wrong because this setup does not work, even after switching lightbulbs.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Lights don’t care if they’re connected the “wrong way round”, so if it’s not working it may be time to call an electrician.
Hell No. Get a professional before you get yourself killed!
Alright if you really feel like explaining how you died to the insurance here you go.
Check which of the wires is live (yellow or pink). Blue is neutral and brown is live usually. Than again touch the metal on that clip and you‘re gone.
I would have assumed the same. But especially in older houses many things are possible.
