I want to know what made NATO and Ukraine think that saying “your losing so just stop” was going to shake sense into the Russian government to stop this, I’m not sure they understand that russia has poured so much money, lost many resources/equipment/lives, and has strained almost every one of their international relationships. This war has gone on too long and it’s dug in so deep I feel that they won’t stop until Ukraine is theirs, the commitment to this is very high, at this point the war won’t end until one side or the other is defeated.

This war is a matter of pride for Putin. He has no way out that doesn’t make it look like a failure. I’m sure bringing Ukraine under Russian rule, where he wrongly thinks it belongs, is meant to be his greatest achievement as president and cement his legacy in Russian history. Either he wins or he dies in office and his replacement ends the war, making amends to the world for the actions of a misguided predecessor. I don’t see this going any other way.
