  1. Any officer that goes into battle without his sword is improperly dressed.

  2. Correct me if I’m wrong but that sword appears to be a Gladius. It was a good weapon for its time and it bet would still do the job in close quarters. Let Putin know that Ukraine will if necessary fight in hand to hand combat to defend itself.

  3. Good for cutting things open, like watermelons, orcs, MRE’s. I’d take a tomahawk but carry what you will!

  4. But that could easily jab him though by accident as someone mentioned I’d rather carry a tomahawk

  5. *Thrust this into another man’s flesh, and they will applaud and love you for that. You may even begin to love them for that.*

  6. Yeah..cool sword.. but whats the arrow is pointing at? lol

  7. It’s pretty dangerous without a scabbard though. A gladius is a double edge weapon. Plus dirt just corrodes the blade faster.

  8. The only thing this sword is going to cut is his own leg and pants

  9. cool, but not sure if it is so useful. In combat, an assault rifle is always better, and for everything else it is not overly well suited. And without a sheath, you can stab it into your own leg.

And instead of the obligatory “and my axe!” reply: I have bought a very cheap small hatchet (amazon.de/gp/product/B07NL8VVXT/), very handy, it can be carried e.g. on a molle leg plate. Did me good service already when unearthing some sturdy roots from a brush I had to remove on the cemetry. Also works well to hack off branches or small trees, pretty sharp (despite being China crap obviously). Grip is good even when muddy. I guess something like that would be helpful for troops having to live in trenches. It is also probably suited to hack into someone (I have not tried that, yet…). Would rather take that with me into war than a sword.

  10. I think I’d prefer some form of short barrelled shot gun or a pump action…..drones are the big threat. But I’m not the one doing the fighting! Slava Ukraini!

  11. In the early days of the Donbass war back in 2014 I remember a lot of pro-Russian soldiers sporting the whackiest of weapons. Like nunchucks, swords, zombie knives and throwing stars

  12. It is probably a legendary sword or an item important to the story that will appear in some CG scene in the future. He can’t sell it or throw it out.

  13. Yeah wen the west don,t supply anough ammo …..

    ” fix bajonets” ……..Sharsche

  14. Awesome but he should keep it in a scabbard if he is going to carry it around. Keep going like that and he is like to poke a hole in his leg.
