  5. This is true for every war. Check all the countries where USA brings democracy and liberation, Irak, Syria.. etc..

    The whole idea is that Ukraine have to win and Putin to be killed.

  12. I live in Finland, in a town that was bombed extensively during the Winter War. There’s still visible damage on my house from the bombing. Very minor damage, but still a reminder what could happen.

  14. Truth be told, most post Soviet towns look like that in early spring without any war going.

  21. It’s the russian philosophy of war: encircle, destroy and turn everything into dust, kill every person, who survives send to rural siberia, import russians and say “See, only russian speakers here”.

  25. Doesn’t look that different from many cities in Syria or Iraq. This is modern warfare: destroy everything, including civilian housing and infrastructure. Everybody is forced to leave the area since it’s impossible to live there anymore, then sweep in with your military and capture the land. Same tactics were used by Russia/Assad Regime/USA in Syria.

In some ways this war is one of the worst of all because it highlights that even when humans have all the world’s information at their fingertips they’ll still be stupid assholes to one another. In the past we could always say ‘well how could they have known anything different? All they knew was propaganda’. But Russians have access to the internet. They could dig in and learn the truth but they either refuse to learn or they know and refuse to do the right thing.
