  1. I am constantly amazed by influencer culture. These individuals are obviously famous for their talent, and this isn’t meant as an admonishment of them. However, they truly represent the peak of impact social media is having on our culture.

The enthusiasm of Gen Z and millennials for following the lives of people they don’t know, aspiring to emulate them to the extent that it generates a significant economic impact, is something that escapes me. i can only imagine the influence this culture will exert on Gen Alpha, who will have grown up with this as their norm, and a substantial portion of whom will likely seek to emulate these influencers.

Im not trying to debate the positive or negative aspects of social media and celebrity worship, but rather to point out the sheer magnitude and the extreme influence that people are willing to grant to total strangers. From an economic standpoint, it will be interesting to see how this kind of behavior continues to impact the real world behaviors and consumer patterns.

Personally, I would have expected the influencer bubble to burst by now due to over saturation, but it seems to have only just begun.
