
Hi! I’m trying to translate this recipe and can’t figure out the meaning of reichen as used in this recipe below and my German-English dictionary and google translate both say very different things. It’s referring to plating the sauce I believe. In context “Die Sauce getrennt dazu reichen.“ Any help would be great as I’m a very beginner German speaker!

“reichen” basically means to give something to someone. In he context of a recipe, it means to serve something (here: to serve the sauce seperate from the meat).
To hand over, to add, to give as an extra, on the side…something in the ballpark of these.
