Watching ‘A House Through Time’ on BBC and this guy appeared. I nearly spat my wine out – poor guy must never hear the end of it.

  1. I bet he was not a fan of J K Rowling when the first book came out.

  2. He went on to talk about a barrister in Victorian times who pled for a prisoner not to suffer the death penalty after poisoning his wife and killing her as, not being of sound mind, ‘he believed in satanism and wizardry’. I swear there was a slight smirk and glint in his eye as he said it. Good on him.

  3. Wait where’s the Barrister?

I’m sorry your honour he ran in to the wall again when getting of the train.

  4. He has an entire BBC Four documentary on the history of common law (The Strange Case of the Law) which is very good but even the reviews at the time would make reference to his namesake and I do know at least one person who started watching it thinking it had something to do with Harry Potter the character!

  5. *”I put it to you that you were in Hogsmead on 9th January”*

  6. Future Harry talking about the times Voldemort tried to kill him.

  7. Good to see him pop up again. He did a cracking series on the history of English law a few years ago.

I believe he was also formerly a prison chaplain

  8. Leicester Tigers had a winger called Harry Potter. The commentary got pretty old, pretty fast. Sadly (from a Tigers fan perspective), he’s moved back to Aus

  9. Someone asked and I think deleted it but in answer it is S4 E1 for anyone interested.

  10. “This was an intention to kill”

Obviously he’s talking about Lucius Malfoy raising his wand at Harry after Dobby is freed

  11. Wasn’t he also a winger for Tigers last year? Quite a CV that bloke has got there.
