Japan’s ‘Moon Sniper’ attempts precision lunar landing • FRANCE 24 English

It’s a historic touchdown attempt with its smart Lander for investigating moon or slim Mission Japan is hoping to become the fifth country to put a spacecraft on the moon the probe dubbed Moon sniper is equipped with high Precision technology scientists hope this will enable it to pull off the notoriously tricky

Landing in space and moon exploration it’s very common that spacecrafts miss the targeted Landing location by few kilometers or dozens of kilometers but slim aims a landing on the moon with a Precision of less than a 100 m eror once this technology has proven successful we’ll be able to land

On difficult terrains such as Moon Pooles among Slims features is a rolling robot developed by a major toy company the probe is targeting a small crater at the Moon South Pole if the landing is a success the r will investigate the composition of rocks which could help scientists uncover the origins of the

Moon it could also examine how potential Water Resources might be used to help build bases the mission is an opportunity for Japan to show off its space capabilities Japan being the fifth state to land a Rover on the moon would be very important and significant because it will demonstrate its space

Industry and capabilities to the world and um Global Industrial interests and it also shows that Japan is a reliable partner for the United States as well in terms of the atomus program which may see astronauts return to the moon in the next five years possibly The Landing

Attempt is set to be tense for the Japanese space agency although it has already made a landing on an asteroid the agency has faced a string of setbacks including two failed Luna missions in March one of its Rockets experienced an engine issue forcing Mission officials to manually destroy the vehicle minutes into flight

Japan’s “Moon Sniper” was set to touch down early Saturday on the lunar surface, one of myriad new missions on the back of renewed interest in Earth’s natural satellite. If its Smart Lander for Investigating Moon (SLIM) mission succeeds, Japan will be the fifth nation to pull off a fiendishly tricky soft lunar landing after the United States, the Soviet Union, China and India.

  1. Japan doesn't like show off, unless and until it's 101% done Japan won't accounce the success and even after it's 101% success, the Japanese way of announcing the success will be kind of "it's a small step towards a long goal, and we will work harder to get more information and improve… thank you for your patience and understanding…" Then everyone bowed to the journalists and public…😂 Totally different from American and Chinese

  2. Japanese should stop their selfish, vicious action that discharge their Nuclear-contaminated water into the Pacific Ocean first. Then land the moon.

  3. Moon landing is as possible as landing on a rainbow… only for mentally challenged. Vacuum space cannot coexist with atmosphere without a physical barrier. Moon/Sun are local non-rock objects.

  4. FLIGHT PAST & NOW**

Man has dreamed of flying high

Since birds first avoided his spear.

    Not until nineteen-o-three

Was it done despite his fear.

    With gasoline and engine,

    Propellers and wings for lift

The Wright brothers flew their plane

    And gave mankind their gift.

    Many countries built their planes

    As our world became insane.

Planes were used in two world wars

With bombs and bullets to rain.

Now we fly in outer space

    In search of life's creation.

Though most succeed, some will die

    Pioneers of aviation.

    Nothing else man can conceive

Is more luring but God's sky.

To be as one with the stars

Is the wish of all who fly.

  5. I am Indian American, A Huge Congratulations to our Japanese brothers, just having a soft landing is a huge engineering feat in itself, great job. I hope the lander orientation changes and things work out. Japanese are the most hard working, honest and talented people in the world. Viva Japan 🇯🇵 !!
