I keep seeing sad videos of polar bears and penguins that are being negatively affected by the loss of ice in the Arctic. Why doesn’t someone just create fake ice to synthetically increase ice habitat to save the polar bears and other Arctic animals? We could take ocean plastic to create the fake ice and replicate the shape of ice. Is this a crazy/dumb idea or could it be done? I haven’t found this idea on the internet, but the linked Quora is the closest thing I could find.

  1. Such a dumb idea that humanity as a whole can be defined as dumber than ever because you asked it. Thank you.

  2. No, just no. We already have enough plastic in the oceans and this would probably not help arctic species in any meaningful way. Sorry to burst you bubble.

  3. I have wondered if the powers that be would try to float a white reflective material over the massive open part of the ocean on the back of Earth.

I bet they combine both of our big dummy ideas. 😉
