  1. Not surprised in the slightest. This is going to become one of those things that only wealthy people have access to. It’s poor people have to deal with whatever life God hands them and all that.

  2. Republicans are well known for voting against their own interests.

  3. >GOP Congresswoman Shows Mind-Blowing Hypocrisy ~~on Alabama IVF Ruling~~

    Fixed that for you.

  4. from article- Steel’s solidarity with Alabaman IVF patients rings pretty hollow considering she co-sponsored the Life at Conception Act. The measure, which was introduced first in 2021 with 166 co-sponsors and then again in 2023 with 124, would have established that life begins at fertilization. The bill has not advanced since.

  5. She likely never even read the bill she co-sponsored.

(A whole problem in and of itself.)

  6. Even before this ban, asking someone aggressively pro-life about IVF makes their brain lock up.

They know they’re okay with IVF, they know they’re not okay with abortion, they know they think “life begins at conception,” but ask them how it all fits together and suddenly they’re twitching and smelling burnt toast.

  7. She’s up for re-election in a swing district. Can her.

  8. Hypocrisy is meaningless to these people. Are we really surprised? Their voters are more motivated by the ends.

  9. >…on Friday, the Senate Republican campaign arm sent a memo to GOP candidates, urging them to “clearly and concisely reject efforts by the government to restrict IVF.”

You can be sure that somewhere in the memo they said “until after the election”.

  10. That’s because hypocrisy is a virtue to these cretins.

  11. Get fucked. My wife and I had our son through IVF, and we of all people know that an embryo does not equal a baby no matter how much you wish it would turn into one. By the time you’re arriving at IVF as an option, *you have tried everything else*, and to pile even more onto the people that are so close to the reality that they may never make their own human is disgusting. It’s such a hard process, it’s full of ups and downs, and just getting to the point that you have viable embryos means a whole shit ton of things have gone right.

  12. Hey grab that ladder and pull it up here! It’s disgusting to think someone might try to use it!

  13. She’s got hers (kid), screw all of you

Article is off a bit though. The problem is not embryos that do not result in pregnancy. The problem is that many embryos are created but only a few are implanted. This leaves many extra embryos that are cryogenically stored. Most people pay for a few years of storage (until kid is born) then have the embryos disposed of. That’s what’s the problem

  14. Fuck MAGA Michelle and her RNC committee fluffer husband!

  15. Any body ask her how many babies she murdered in here IVF treatments?

  16. In this case it’s not hypocrisy, it’s stupidity. She has never stopped to think about the stupid bills that she supports.

  17. If you think this is mind blowing then you haven’t been paying attention.

  18. Unfortunately, the average (read most all) swing voter will never read this article, let alone ever hear of this hypocrisy.

  19. They only thing Republicans regret is that the IVF ruling came down *before* Trump was elected. This is their game plan, and so much more.
