  1. The House of Representatives comes back in session Wednesday. On Tuesday, Biden will meet with the top Republican and Democrat from both the House and the Senate:

    >The meeting – which will include Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, House Speaker Mike Johnson and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries – comes at a pivotal moment following Johnson’s resistance to Ukraine aid.

    This will be an interesting meeting. Out of those four people, only one of them doesn’t support Ukraine aid!

    >While further aid for Ukraine has majority support in the House, including from a solid core of Republicans, Johnson has to manage a fractious conference that includes members on the right who staunchly oppose additional aid.

    So that’s good news. There are still several Republicans in the House who do support Ukraine. The problem is that Johnson won’t put the Senate’s bill with Ukraine aid up for a vote in the House.

    **Wouldn’t it be great if a bunch of Ukraine-supporting Americans called Speaker Johnson’s office on Monday ahead of his meeting on Tuesday? 🙂 The number is 202-225-4000. Let’s call him and tell him Ukraine needs this aid now and he should put the Senate’s bill up for a vote ASAP.**

    By the way, Johnson also has another challenge to deal with. The government is in danger of partially shutting down on Friday. 😂 (Then a week later, the rest of it may shut down…)
