Government defeated as Lords vote to remove parts of controversial policing bill

  1. I was keeping myself updated with some of the votes. I don’t think the government won any at all. There must have been at least a dozen.

  2. And once again, the House of Lords save us at the very last minute.

Beginning to think an unelected house isn’t such a bad idea after all.

  3. What does this bill *actually* achieve other than lubrication and wanking material for seriously blue in the blood withered ghoul tory lifers?

    – “Clamping” down on “noisy and nuisance” protests. People are going to protest anyway, regardless and it’s going to stretch policing resources even further, taking police away from problem areas and organised crime etc.

    – Making misogyny a hate crime? Locking people up because they have a misguided point of view? Pot, kettle, black.
