Jesus that’s some drop! Meaningful Paddys day inc?
Put a fork in it lads
Not divisible
Dropping fast, hopefully by February the nightlife of this country is back up and running.
Ok, maybe close the gyms every other day and have half capacity when they are open!
Safe to say we’d need to multiply the antigen numbers by two for a more accurate figure?
Or are they fairly on the money considering, as far as I know, you need to upload your antigen test to get a Recovery cert?
Everyone please think of the ‘oh shit’ and ‘close the gyms’ guys. They will have no way to generate up votes soon.
That is a crazy drop. Does the fact that under 40s don’t need to get a PCR come into it I wonder? Presumably a good chunk of people who have it aren’t bothering to upload antigen test results?
Hon the lads
Considering we were over 20,000 cases just a week ago, this is great to hear.
**Cases in ICU**
– Today: 97 (+9)
– Admissions: 11
– Discharges: 1
– Week-on-week change in ICU admissions: +21.3%
– ICU admissions not fully vaxed (in the 8 weeks up to 2021-11-20): 58.9%
**Cases in Hospital**
– Today: 1006 (+45)
– New Covid-19-positive admissions: 64
– New cases in hospital: 98
– Discharges: 30
– Week-on-week change in new Covid-19-positive admissions: -9.7%
– Week-on-week change in new cases in hospital: -7.1%
**Reported Deaths**
– This week (up to 2022-01-12): 83 (+43)
– Week-on-week change: +107.5%
**PCR Confirmed Cases**
– Today: 6329 (-4424)
– Week-on-week change: -30.9%
**PCR Testing**
– Total positive swabs today: 6283 (-2582)
– Percentage of swabs positive today: 36.9%
– 7-day positivity rate: 45.2%
– Week-on-week absolute change in 7-day positivity rate: -6.3%
**Boosters/Third Doses**
– Total administered (as of 2022-01-16): 2560766
– Percentage of total population: 51.4%
– Week-on-week absolute increase in boosted population: +2.4%
The antigen tests are really affecting our stats now. We’d be fourth highest cases per capita if not for them as they’re excluded in international monitoring.

I got covid on new years eve, recovered now and testing negative on antigens.
I was not able to get a PCR test as they were all booked out.
They have no changed the rules and I’m actually too young to get a PCR test as of maybe a week ago?
Now.. I can’t get a booster shot for another 3 months. And to get into a pub or restaurant you need a booster shot, or prove that you had covid.
So what the feck am I to do in my situation? How can I prove that I have recovered from covid if I could only do antigen tests at home?
I’d say the real number of people getting covid is probably nearly double that, lets hope this trend continues to fall.
