Ukraine needs to mobilize so that troops are trained when they receive F-16s and fight a strictly defensive war on the front while they continue to hit Russia deep with their long-range drones.
NATO needs to do everything they can to divert artillery to Ukraine and dig deeper in their reserves. And do everything they can to increase other aid. All the hardware in NATO’s inventory was built for this purpose. They need to contribute a lot more of their inventory. They haven’t even scratched the surface. They are just pulling stuff out of the donate, recycle, and trash piles.
Mobilizing now and supplying more aid now will save lives in the future. They don’t have to hang on for 10 years, but they do need to keep destroying Russia’s war machine, including industrial targets, until Russia breaks.
Fortunately, Ukraine developed their own capability with long-range drones and the ability to conduct sabotage operations to break Russia, so Ukraine can do this part. They just need to stop the meat waves.
I don’t buy that Ukraine will lose. I do believe it could get a lot worse before it gets better if necessary things don’t happen. Losing 50k soldiers is bad for a democracy, but losing 100k civilians on top of that is a lot worse.
