I think this goes beyond the right of demonstration. Peacefully demonstrations of ecologists have ended with broken bones by brutal police actions while here clearly the farmers are very aggressive and dangerous while the police seems to be inactive…

The police are such a joke. Throughout all the protests they have give the farmers too much leeway. If any other group would have tried this (storming streets, blocking roads/ports) they would have long used force by now.
What I’m making of all of this is that driving a big vehicle apparently gives you to right to protest violently.
Marginaal kutvolk is het. Overheid biedt subsidies aan wat een andere zelfstandige niet krijgt alleen hangen hier wat klimaatregels aan. De boeren willen wel geld maar geen regels… het klimaat is om zeep en landbouw heeft hier een gigantische impact op. Ze kosten ons veel belastinggeld en ze kloten het volk met hun stakingen. Maar het klimaat, het geld van het volk en de files/overlast die ze bezorgen interesseert hen niet. Enorm egoïstisch volk. Ja het is 5 na 12 voor het klimaat en er moet dringend vanalles gebeuren. Misschien eens een landbouwer behandelen zoals een andere zelfstandige. Kan je niet rondkomen dan ga je failliet en doe je iets anders. Genoeg vacatures

Seems like if they wanted to stop them, they could have very easily by driving 2m forward.

Serieus wat n uitschot. Voor die idioten moeten meteen alle subsidies worden ingetrokken. Wel t handje ophouden, maar vervolgens op overheidsambtenaren inrijden? Prima, geen geld meer. Zak maar letterlijk in de stront
These tractors each cost one to two hundred thousand euros new, and aren’t much cheaper used, and when they are needed there is no alternative. All of this bullshit would end the moment the police start seizing them.
If the police turn Tour et Taxis into a parking lot for them, and make sure that the process for getting them back even just takes a few weeks much less the few months that would be natural for any Belgian bureaucracy to take, they’ll never do it again. These tractors frankly already belong to the European taxpayers and consumers who paid for them through CAP and the artificially high prices that these fuckers are demanding we manipulate further to be even more obscene.
Hell, all they’d really need to do is train a hundred cops on the Category G license to make it clear that something like this could be a credible threat.
