Rare DOLPHIN swimming in the River Thames spotted by stunned lifeboat crew

Kent lifeboat crew spot rare DOLPHIN swimming in the River Thames

A lifeboat crew were joined by three dolphins in the River Thames on February 25 at Northfleet, with one crew member describing “an incredible sight”.

“It was an incredible sight, we spotted the dolphin-like fins at first, there were two adults and a calf, they were approximately two metres in length, incredible to witness,” John Robinson said.

“We often see seals whilst out on the lifeboat, but dolphins & porpoises are definitely on the rarer side of marine mammals we spot!” Gravesend RNLI station manager Ian Smith added.
