I can’t really see how a piece of plastic will stay lodged in the upper GI tract for 14 months without causing any symptoms. Is it not more likely that this was a second foreign body ingestion??
This is clearly a tragedy but I’m just a bit skeptical about what’s being hinted at as the cause of death. Especially given the “after” in the headline.
I’m just amazed that he was allowed near a tiny item at ten months old…
