  1. >A joke referencing the term “fire crotch” has been removed from the digital version of 2024’s “Mean Girls” after Lindsay Lohan publicly took issue with it.

    >“Fire crotch” was infamously associated with Lohan after socialite Brandon Davis made crude comments about the actor’s body in a 2006 paparazzi video that also featured Paris Hilton.

    >Lohan, who played Cady Heron in the 2004 original “Mean Girls,” made a cameo in this year’s movie musical rendition. After the film’s release, her representative Leslie Sloane told The Messenger, “Lindsay was very hurt and disappointed by the reference in the film.”

    >In the new “Mean Girls,” Megan Thee Stallion (playing herself) shows support for Cady (now played by Angourie Rice) by saying, “We are going back red. Y2K fire crotch is back!” An updated version of the film, viewed by Variety via Amazon Prime Video, cuts directly to Megan Thee Stallion laughing after she says, “We are going back red.”

  2. Yes, I’m sure that the girl who partied 24/7, probably did more coke then Ozzy Osbourne and Keith Richards, the girl who went to jail for theft and drugs, was offended by the term “fire crotch”. Uh huh.

  3. I’m sorry for calling you a fire crotch bitch. You’re not a fire crotch.

  4. This is silly. I feel like for better or for worse you should stand by your joke instead censoring. There’s a bit too much of that these days. Yes it was a dumb joke and yes it hurt LL’s feelings but editing it out will just make it so the writers who wrote the joke get off scott free and the optics are better for the studio

  5. Wait— she wasn’t even in this version of the movie. What was she offended by?

  6. I only learnt recently that fire crotch was specifically about her and not just about them going commando in general 🙈

  7. Glad they took it out. It served no purpose and was specifically about her after she was public about it bothering her.

I’m surprised they took it out at all, didn’t know Disney cared about anything other than money lol

  8. I was Hurt and Disappointed sitting through this movie in the Theatre… If they cut the whole movie out of the movie I would be ok with it…

  9. Can’t understand people annoyed they’ve taken it out when the joke is literally not funny at all separate from the issue of offence and I don’t know why they ever included a joke specifically to degrade the face of the original movie who also returned for a part in this. It was a rude, unfunny joke and it’s the right move to remove it although the better move would’ve been to never include it in the first place. It added nothing to the movie at all

  10. It was definitely rude to ask the lead star of the original to make a cameo then insult them.

  11. When will people learn that depiction does not equal endorsement?

That said, I’ve never had a joke in a movie targeted specifically at me, so maybe I would feel different if that happened to me.

  12. I’m confused, but what else is new

What you fellers have for dinner?

  13. This must have been emotional damaging to Lindsey Lohan, I remember when this happened and feeling bad for LL, might even threw her off the cliff. Davis and Hilton were truly the mean girls!

  14. Is it really a reference or just a common, yet shitty, term that high school boys would ask red headed girls?

I may be alone here but I didn’t know it was a big deal it was said in the film?

  15. As a fan of the original, I haven’t seen this.

But isn’t the proper term “fire-box”?

  16. A pillar of prudeness offended by a silly joke in a movie about catty high school girls. Yeah, ok.

  17. I too look forward to our brave new world that discourages laughter, senses of humor, and not taking oneself too seriously.

  18. “Fire crotch offended after referred to as fire crotch” – Variety

  19. Good. I was completely boycotting/cancelling Tina Fey for being completely disgusting. She’s cancelled to me now.

  20. That’s so soft. It’s literally a movie about girls who are mean to each other.

  21. Why did they even need to remake the movie if the original was a classic?

  22. Who cares. I’m never going to watch it anyway. This seems a viral marketing campaign to get us to watch a horrible reboot.

  23. So they took it out of the digital version only to put it back in the remake which she’s in, by cameo? I know she was hurt by this crap by her ex, but you might as well put the thing back in. It’s already cross referenced by her cameo. Besides who forgets that? It seems to me by taking it out, people are going to remember the other thing more.
