Country and historically in elections here they’ve been pretty accurate in predicting the final outcome of the vote and all of the ones released so far show that proro is over the 50% required of the overall vote to win the Indonesian presidency it seems like his two uh presidential candidates that he’s been

Running against they haven’t secured enough votes to force this into a runoff in a few months it’s been relatively calm today in Indonesia propo has called for calm whilst the remaining results come in but it looks likely now that he will be the next Indonesian president yeah and any reaction from the outgoing

Joko we Doo we haven’t heard much from jakoi as he’s referenced here at the moment we will await to hear more from the outgoing president we know that his own son Gibran has been running alongside prooo and although jakoi hasn’t officially uh endorsed any of the candidates given the family connection

To that campaign it’s been clear to many voters who the outgoing president wishes to succeed him and I think that has been a large part of why prooo has been able to run such a successful campaign jakoi is immensely popular here in Indonesia he’s going to leave office with Skyhigh

Approval ratings which is very rare for an Indonesian president or any president in fact um but his policies have been very popular for example working hard to improve Indonesia’s INR infrastructure relying heavily on foreign investment and working to grow the economy and that’s why really all of the candidates

Pledged to continue a lot of his policies if they were to get into office particularly prooo who remember he has gone up against jakoi in previous elections but this time he was very supportive of uh Widodo and his policies pledging to continue the majority of them really

Indonesia Defence Minister Prabowo Subianto declared victory in a presidential election on Wednesday after unofficial vote counts showed him with a huge lead that could see him win in a single round, however, official results are not expected for some time.
