Lol, foreigners are pretty much banned from anything even remotely sensitive in China.
But did they show their powerful Chinese passport?
When your government is famous for stealing technology and copying it, this is a predictable result.
For those that can’t be bothered to read. This happened at an airshow in Singapore where it’s more than expected to have visitors from all over the world. It was there for the show.
Chinese nationals were barred by the person on the plane, when airbus found out they intervened because it was not appropriate.
Airbus has since apologised. If you think this was justified, or this was an actual rule you’re just wrong.
I’ve known of entire aircraft that were flattened because someone brought a phone on or otherwise was not authorized to board it for fear of bugs. not cheap aircraft too.
Though generally at public military events in the US, so long as no one idiotically gives a tour of something they’re not suppose to give a tour on, you’ve got folks looking for spies and other folks ready to follow anyone suspicious once they leave the event.
China cannot be trusted. Their military technology is all derived from stolen designs from Western countries. Saves them billions in R&D costs.
China wouldn’t let any foreigners near their military planes so they can fuck off.
sorry guys, no scanning today
The German gov. and Airbus can apologize, that’s up to them obviously. I would be unapologetic.
Redditors really coming out of the woodwork to justify profiling even though Airbus had already apologized, something they would have known if they read the article.
Does that plane have an elevator the Chinese would pee in?
China has a long record of stealing technological secrets. I don’t blame them one bit.
At least they reverted. Looking at these comments, some of you guys are just racist, and stupid too. Barring Chinese citizens here isn’t going to stop the Chinese government from stealing the tech.
When did discrimination against nationality become a good idea? Just because one has a Chinese passport doesn’t mean they are pro CCP or chose their nationality.
Good.

I went to UBC for engineering. We toured the Boeing factory on a field trip once. Students who were Chinese nationals were not allowed to participate.
Lol. Hell, I’ve been on this airplane.
This is the most non news worthy article I’m surprised it’s getting such traction
Lmao downvoting for a procedure that has always been in place for military & citizens of adversary nations
China mad?Don’t buy Airbus then.Oh,I forgot Chinese don’t like the US too so don’t buy Boeing.
Fear of design theft aside, there is also concern that they will pass their knowledge to Russia and other anti-West actors.
Didn’t some Chinese dude in the US military sell US secrets to China and his mom encouraged him to do so? Lmao just ban all of the Chinese.
Went to school in Cleveland and we had a rocket club organizing a trip to NASA Glenn. The email straight up said “Bring your passport, not drivers license. No Chinese allowed”
I went inside one at my local airshow before Covid. Things fucking cool. Also the Luftwaffe crew were the friendliest people I met at the show.
It is funny to see tankies/CCP-lover try to use the racist card to defend the Chinese while Chinese, especially those Chinese ultranationalist, are openly racist and look down on every other races
…Doesn’t Airbus have a factory in China?
Good, the chinese do the same if its the other way around
Went on a tour of general dynamics once, part of the pre tour process was agreeing to a background check.
I’ve been to trade shows in China where the local businesses wouldn’t let you enter if you were Chinese. Only foreigners allowed due to copyright and IP theft.
Rampant IP theft doesn’t just happen to foreign companies. Often, if it can be mass produced in China, it will be. Copyright or no copyright. Regardless of country of origin.
Han supremacists sure do look for any opportunity to steal the IP of the anglo west. Maybe try developing your own tech if you think you are that much better.
This is good, China block their entire country from the rest of the world.

We should do the same. It’s only fair.
