>Investigations were launched into at least 257 of the accusations, resulting in at least 130 sanctions
>Punishments have included 22 exclusions, five suspensions, two dismissals of staff and 46 warnings or cautions.
What about the criminal charges/legal consequences? The investigations should be _criminal investigations_ and “punishments” should be _criminal charges/sentences_. We don’t want a system like what they have in the US where universities deal with these matters internally instead of getting the police involved. Internal disciplinary proceedings should run in parallel, but not instead of, criminal investigations.
There also needs to be a distinction made between non-criminal sexual misconduct (such as a consensual but inappropriate office relationship) and actual sex crimes, as using “sexual misconduct” as an umbrella term can be misleading.
What even is sexual misconduct? There’s no crime by that name.
