  1. so they are going all in, raise prices on global markets, hope for a crisis and economic panic. could also help to push their favorite in the us elections.

  2. Wait, i was told AFU’s drone strikes on oil refineries would have 0 effect?!

Guess russia doesn’t have literally infinite resources like some of the users on reddit told me…

  3. “We’re not even exporting so you can stop attacking our refineries now, right? Please?”

  4. >Russia last month reduced gasoline exports to non-Commonwealth of Independent States countries to compensate for unplanned repairs at refineries amid fires and drone attacks on its energy infrastructure.

    Haha

  5. Ukraine hit two refineries a month ago. They need fuel for domestic consumption and the war.

  6. Another step towards the apparent goal of turning into mega North Korea.

  7. The Ukrainian campaign to damage refining capacity has worked surprisingly well. Lol at blaming it on demand

  8. Two drones made possible what two years of discussions on sanctions couldn’t.

  9. Ukraine lost the war long ago, get ready boys soon you will be drafted so Zelensky can keep buying more mansions.

  10. Paper sanctions vs drone bomb sanctions. Ukraine knows how to do it

  11. My immediate reaction to this headline was that Pootin is trying to raise gas prices before the election.

  12. Very impressive work from Ukraine. Goes to show that the ammo deliveries and funding aren’t going to nothing.

  13. Ukrainians are now pouring over maps of where Russia processes gasoline and readying the next drone strikes.

  14. Cool – now tell India and China we won’t be increasing oil exports.

  15. Mother Putin put up your iron curtain and leave us alone.

  16. I support the Ukrainian effort here, but too much destruction can be counterproductive for the oil global market. Hit enough but don’t hit them all.

  17. I wonder if this decision has been motivated (in part) by Russia’s seasonal economy. The ruble seems to climb and fall across winters and summers — a byproduct of fuel demand in the west.

If Russia can manipulate an oil scarcity, perhaps they aim to float the energy market to which the ruble is so closely tied. It’s a certainty that the ruble would predictably decline in the absence of outside interference.

Stabilizing the ruble would look good to the drones on the front lines and the brainwashed masses back home. Any additional availability of domestic fuel reserves is just gravy for the war machine.

Regardless, Ukraine should sabotage all of the Russian oil refineries that they can. Fuck Russia.
