Zoom bombers and zoom flashers are a big problem if you publish a link to any meeting and it’s very difficult to know who’s joining as you’ll just get something like “X is in the waiting room” … no profile.
One regular zoom meeting I run had a guy join, interact very minimally in audio only, then go silent and next thing a good 30 minutes into the meeting, flashed us and started roaring and screaming and for some reason we couldn’t mute or boot him and had to restart the whole meeting.
These guys seem to spend their time trawling the web for open or easily accessible Zoom meetings.
It’s possible he’s local and deliberately targeted it, but it’s equally possible he’s some random internet perv halfway around the world.
We had to really lock things down, which is a shame because it makes it much harder to run any semi public meeting.
All I know is you realise very quickly that there are some extremely vicious weirdos out there when you put anything online in an open way. It’s disappointing but sadly, not surprising.
So fucking annoyed that Aislings murder is like lancing the cesspool that is toxic irish culture. The victim blaming, the exploitation of this tragedy for personal gain, virtue signaling or just pushing stupid agendas just some of the horrible things happening but this sicko is definitely the worst.
