  1. When you fight market concentration with more market concentration, the end result is not going to be less market concentration.

  2. In big cities aren’t the halfway decent grocers independent or use the local warehouses that have long histories? Kroger and Albertsons will sell you crap like Kraft, General Mills, big ag products.

    I guess that the ftc can’t force it, but I wonder how better it would be to have mandated standards like the French when it comes to selling bread and meat and produce, then just let the regional suppliers compete for being the wholesalers.
