This is a continued embarrassment and a frustrating belligerence from the gutless Albanese Labour govt.
The only ‘silver lining’ is that Albanese is in a pinch with his crumbling credibility as his party’s continued incompetence will see him call an early election which could very well see him lose.
The Liberal party would hopefully step up and commit to fulfilling Ukraines request for our surplus/retired military equipment as they did previously.
The sheer lack of any consideration for Ukraines increasingly dire situation by the Albanese govt is beyond logic.
Cannot wait to vote them out
(1) They haven’t gotten replacements yet; these are still in use.
(2) When they do get their new tanks, they’ll probably be retaining many of the components as spares.
(3) Aussie tanks aren’t exportable.

The Ukraine base has started to become a little irritating. I get you. You are in a war which Russia started and invaded your country. I get that and I respect that. I also believe that Russia is the enemy and Russia is wrong for this invasion. I believe in supporting Ukraine in anyway possible. But is it another countries obligation?? No, it’s not. If Australia wants to not donate abrams tanks then it’s their decision. If they don’t want to donate F-18s it’s their military and their equipment. This is not Australia’s war. This is not the United States war. This is not germanys war. This is not a world war. This is Russia vs Ukraine. Many in the world, including the US and Australia are supporting Ukraine with billions of dollars in money and equipment. When is it enough?? When will Ukraine start to mass produce its own supplies and weapons? It’s been over two years and Ukraine STILL cannot mass produce a 155mm artillery round???? It’s been two years and Ukraine still can mass produce 7.62 rifle rounds??? It’s been two years and they STILL cannot mass produce BMPs??? Drones? Mortars?? AAs?? Most countries were willing to help Ukraine FIGHT this war in the beginning and giving weapons and aid to get Ukraine going. Now, two years later Ukraine now berates and doubts any country who wants to keep their own mimitary armed with their weapons and not continue to hemorrhage money. Fuck Russia, but at some point Ukraine needs to stop holding its hand out and start mass producing fast. This should have been done since 2014. Think about it.. when the 2014 invasion hit, why did Ukraine not start ramping up mass production of their military?? Things that make you go hmmmmm. Because they were getting funneled billions of dollars and free training and non leathal weapons. Where did some of those billions go from 2014-2022??? Yep, follow the money. Ukraine could have built a military manufacturing powerhouse by now… but it hasn’t. Why isn’t anyone asking why??????!

A couple of months into the war I was asked to make a list of any and all material we could spare for Ukraine. Myself and another officer made a list that would of put our own company on bare bones setting. As of today, nothing has been sent out
