Begum travelled to Syria in 2015 at the age of 15. Her citizenship was revoked on national security grounds shortly after she was found in a Syrian refugee camp in February 2019. Last year, the now 24-year-old lost a challenge against the decision at the special immigration appeals commission. Begum’s lawyers brought a bid to overturn this decision at the court of appeal, with the Home Office opposing the challenge. All three appeal judges ruled against her on Friday.

  1. We should never be allowed to remove citizenship from anyone born in the this country, let alone based on the decision a dumb child made when they were 15, its costing us millions because we made an unlawful decision in the first place, this is a disgrace, shame on us.

  2. Not surprised at this verdict but deeply ashamed of this country, that treated a child of 15 in this way. I believe that had she been white, none of this would have happened. The comments on here make me sick to the stomach but again, not at all surprised at the hatred shown. This country has become unrecognisable under Conservative mismanagement. Shameful behaviour.

  3. Whilst there might be some justification in keeping Begum out of the country. On the other hand, we have allowed numerous anonymous fighting age men in to the country, who might present us with a greater danger in the future!!

  4. Why have someone back in the country who fought/supported against it? Just 'cos she put on a cap and said she was 'Western' 😂 gtf out of it!

  5. I’m curious, How would the law stand if she got on a boat with the other asylum seekers? Would she be sent to jail here?

  6. The British government should have brought her back to the UK and put her in trial in a British court of law. Allowing a Westminster politician to be able to take away your citizenship is completely unacceptable.

  7. 🇬🇧❌ Shamima Begum's appeal denied: a complex and divisive issue. ⚖ Let's hope for a fair resolution for all involved. 🙏

  8. I approve this decision, but can we do the same with double nationality israeli war criminals that served at the IDF ?

  9. Check out how much this has cost the British taxpayer. We are such a tolerant country aren’t we? Yes, tolerant of the INTOLERANT!

  10. She "was the author of her own misfortune." I'm going to remember that phrase. So many guilty people who have perpetrated various misdeeds are indeed the authors of their own f- ups.
