They give just enough info to get people speculating on who the offending party was (number 1 on the call sheet but not Tom or Jackman), but not enough to really narrow it down (the last 10-12 years). Then they say it’s not important to know who, just that it happened and they did x,y,z in response. I don’t even care if it throws innocent co-stars under the bus, because most actors are arseholes anyway. It just seems attention seeking if you’re either not going to name them or keep it vague enough while still getting across the point you’re trying to make.
