sorry for the provocative title but the Banana republic isn’t able to properly manage its main airport. Queues until outside of the terminal today.

It is not enough that they are forcing all people to walk through a shopping mall, not enough that immigration staff is unfriendly, not enough that they have no signage at arrival other than for package tourists and taxi (no way an arriving tourist could ever find the stop for busses to Larnaca without asking around)….

  1. I flew a few weeks ago and it was not an issue at all. Same goes for my family that have flown half a dozen times in the last year.

  2. Not defending Larnaca airport but I’m sure the new Ercan terminal will be a shopping mall as well. That’s an international tendancy.

  3. I’ve flown from and to the airport over 50 times. I’ve never seen anything like it. It might come as a surprise to you, but sometimes things go sideways.

Have you ever been to another airport? Sights like this are more commonplace (like [here](https://www.bbc.com/news/business-56743571.amp)). Hell, my most annoying transits were from airports such as the Vienna Int’l and Stockholm Arlanda.

I’m not gonna go out of my way to say that the Larnaca airport is the best, but as far as airports go, it’s fine.

Suggesting that it’s better to fly out of Ercan on a solitary incident is not only provocative, but borderline idiotic.

P.S. God forbid you walk for two minutes inside a small shopping complex.
