The problem is the Russian attitude of what’s the point of having a world if Russia isn’t in it.
I recall a fair few European invasions of Russia, none ended well. The reality is, both Russia and Ukraine have a plethora of weapons systems and manpower, and even then neither of them are performing particularly well, what makes any European country feel they would fare any better? Other than shooting at insurgents that melt away into mountains when fire is returned, none of them have any experience in conventional warfare. The last time any of them fought was ww2, and not without U.S aid.
That comment reminds me of the attitude of the British the first World War™ who believe the first world war be over by Christmas….
Would be nice if UA just had enough weapons ans ammo. Then big words like these would not have been neccessary.

Russia has a big advantage over NATO.
Nobody in Russia loses any sleep over mobiks getting killed. Even losing 1 million would not affect them. The wives are actually happy be get rid of their alcoholic, useless husbands. Better to die on the front than of alcohol poisoning in a ditch.
Western countries are far more sensitive to losing troops.
This isn’t an easy conflict.
NATO without the US would crush Russia. European air forces + Ukrainian ground forces would do the trick. No need for EU boots on the ground.
Only if it was willing to fight. And by fight, I mean suffer large scale casualties.
Can we be sure that the US would? 10 years ago I would have said yes 100% Not now.
Germany? Turkey? Hungary? Spain?
Just like French knights thought they’d crush the smaller English force at Agincourt? There’s countless battles in history where one side thought they’d crush the other and they ended up getting crushed….
I’m just here to say that the West has already built well over 1,000 5th generation fighter jets, while Russia has 3 1/2 prototypes of a stealth fighter that isn’t even stealth. 🙃
Just keep in mind that exactly two years ago the still ongoing special military operation in Ukraine was meant to conclude.
