Luton Airport, the first sight you see when you land, is the car park which burnt down in October ‘23. You have thought that they would’ve put some kind of scaffold sheeting up to hide it, but I’m not surprised. Nothing says budget cuts and poor planning as much as this.

  1. Some of those cars look like they didn’t get damaged, wonder how insurance worked for those folks x

  2. Some of the cars don’t look too badly fire damaged will be seeing them at bca or copart very soon

  3. If the aesthetics of the airport concern you wait until you see the rest of the town…

  4. You’d have thought they’d put something up to cover it. It makes the area look like downtown Mariupol. Not ideal when you are arriving for a holiday.

  5. I believe they were still removing some cars up until recently and I can see in the photo what appears to be a few remaining ones. Covering up the exterior will create more work when it would need to be taken down each day they are removing them.

  6. Budget cuts? Is this supposed to be a veiled attempt to bash the evil Tories once again? It’s private property, nothing to do with budget cuts!

  7. Imagine flying back from a lovely holiday, only to see your old car dangling like that

  8. This is part of the reason why everyone’s insurance is going up this year…

  9. I think it’s good that visiting tourists can get an authentic Luton experience, even if they get straight on the train to London.

  10. Those damn Avalanche terrorists. Don’t they understand that mako is a safe, clean energy source for all?

  11. I saw the picture, and I immediately said, “luton.” I’ve never been to luton and live in Manchester so that says it all.

  12. I’d say its a pretty solid introduction to the state of the country at the moment.

  13. What model of car is that. Some excellent hand break.

  14. I mean. It’s not like it detracts from Luton’s architectural attractiveness.

  15. It says: Welcome to the UK. What 14 years of Tory rule has done to the country.

  16. My brother happened to be there taking a flight to Serbia for holiday. He didn’t tell me and this was before I saw it in the news. Just sent me a picture of a fire. I said “Luton?”. He sent “Yeah.”

  17. Sorry your eyes got offended there, Helen Lovejoy.
