just watched the first episode, this show is amazing
“”to make an authentic samurai drama in Hollywood.””
Filmed in British Columbia.
There has been a lot of authentic samurai dramas before and the original Shogun miniseries was extremely well done. And I’m not going to say for the time. It holds up well.
Oh yeah I’ve seen trailers here and there. Is it its own thing named Shogun or is it based off James Clavell?
Good actor. Check out the Twilight samurai which he was in. It was such a serene and mundane depiction of ordinary guy who happened to be a samurai. Good calming film
I have yet to watch it and I’m very excited. I hope he does it justice but from what I hear, he absolutely will.
I read the book many years ago, and I still feel sorry for that poor bastard that got boiled.
BIG NOPE
Watched the two episode last night. Hooked right away. Really immersive. The way they shot the first translation scene with Torunaga, John, and the two interpreters was very well handled. That could have been really tricky exposition.
The show is very nice. No magic GoT like political drama thriller.
Sanada is great, but Mifune is legendary. I can’t watch a remake of my beloved Shogun.
Awesome show, y’all should really go check it out
