It just means that the person or company sending it wants to have proof of you receiving the mail.
All anyone here can say is: It’s probably important mail.
ja
What’ does the letter say?
It could be an important letter, usually sent by a company or private person. So it could be something your landlord sends you (for example Betriebskostenabrechnung).
Mails sent by governmental offices, including Police, are usually either normal mail or Postzustellungsurkunde. Both are delivered to your mailbox.
This Einschreiben you got could also be a delivery of small goods which are either sent from abroad and you need to pay customs, goods that are age restricted or (legal) medication you ordered online.
There should be a tracking number mentioned on the information slip you got, so you could try to look up where it originates on https://www.deutschepost.de/en/s/shipment-tracking.html
It can be the termination of your employment or rental contract or someone sued you. 😀
Probably not. If the letter is Yellow and called „Förmliche Zustellung“ then maybe. If it’s red then you really are in trouble
Maybe. If I’d get a letter like this I’d be slightly nervous.
I once ordered something really cheap an small at an ebay Shop which was send as Einschreiben as well and I had to go to the post office to pick it up.
It’s not worth worrying about it in advance, because you might end up worrying for the wrong thing or unnecessarily worry.
Instead, wait until you know what the letter is about, and worry with purpose.
Offen just a small international parcel.
Can be everything from a new contract of your power company to a government letter with important personal information in it. It just ensures that you received the letter an the the one who sends it knows when u got it. Just relax and pick it. Most of the time the things you imagine it can be are worse than it actually is. “Bad” government letters usually come in a different version.. in Austria it’s RsA or RsB…
Probably not. Anyone can send those for (I think) about 4€. It’s basically like sending a parcel with online tracking/proof of reciept.
It’s ment for making sure “important” mail gets delivered with you having proof.
It must not be something “terrible”. I’ve had packages delivered (fashion brand from UK) that was like that or also postcards or even normal letters. Also if you asked from some document from the city or other public offices they could be sent like that. Don’t worry!
Did you order something small? I once got something I ordered as an *Einschreiben*. I was wondering why someone sent me an “important letter” then, too^^
Can be anything. Maybe a court order, maybe a letter from your long lost uncle who is now a prince in Nigeria. Anything is possible.
I got one of these a couple weeks ago; it was DHL sending me a QR code to activate the Packstation service (the one where you can ship to/from the packstation directly).
Scared me a bit, too. I completely forgot I started the Packstation process. Really stupid that it’s sent with Einschreiben.
Probably a bill of some sorts that needs to be paid. Usually bills are sent as recorded delivery so the organisation knows you’re aware that you have received it.
Back in the 1990s the only mail that came as “Einschreiben Eigenhändig” was the army conscription. But that is probably not an option for you.
i think yes, mostly its bad news which you get with “einschreiben eigenhändig”
As someone who has worked at DHL I can tell you: It can literally be anything. Don’t worry. Usually it is an important document that the system wants a signature for.
Maybe, maybe not. Could be the notification of a big inheritance.
It’s impossible to say what this is going to be. Sometimes it can even just be something you ordered online e.g. from AliExpress, some traders there use shipping methods that require signatures and are translated into Einschreiben when they get here.
sometimes it’s also really weird advertisement, so could be anything ^^
Did you order anything from China? Because it’s cheap and they want some proof, they sometimes ask for this service.
Just Read the letter right away and deal with it. You could post it here after deleting all names.
Companies usually don’t send this cause in effect this is unlikely to matter in court. I only got this from my private landlord once. It’s really not necessary. Could be the state as well or a company in case you moved and they don’t know your new address.
Could also be some trash from China.
no 🙂 Just a letter where the sender wants you to sign that you got it.
