    Edit: this isn’t a criticism of any of those things, I just thought Czar would be someone cool or interesting

  2. She’s so useless. A personal favourite of mine is her claiming that later library hours counted as “nightlife”.

  3. LinkedIn’s feed is a dumpster of wannabes spouting their inflated delusional egos. 

    I’m all for supporting wins and accomplishments, but those venues closed.  

    You accomplished nothing.

  4. She has held that job long enough now. Time to give someone with fresh ideas a chance. I think it’s fair to say that she has made very little impact .

    Fire has issued new restrictions on its club nights like Antichrist (and others) that prevent them from being that hub of expression of alternative lifestyles. It’s just another dance club night. These restrictions seem to have come after interventions from the Met and GLA, as well as from local borough.

    Simply, I’d posit that she’s part of the push to shutter queer venues.

  11. You would think that a lesbian night tsar would have helped lgbtq venues in London, but under her so many have shut down. She’s been in the position since 2016! Someone new needs to take the reins and at this point anyone would be better.

    Night czars should be a group run by the heads of industry. Fabric etc

  19. People expect WAY too much from “Czars”. I think “constitutional monarch” would be a more accurate title. Her power probably extended to … sitting on committees and telling people who’ve never been up past 11 what it’s like to go to a gay bar.

  25. This woman is the biggest embodiment of the corruption that runs through the Mayor’s office. Any competent mayor would’ve been rid of her years ago, but once again he’s keeping his friends paid with public funds.

  27. Her entire list of wins just seems to be instances of vague involvement wherein she hasn’t actually done anything but they’ve happened regardless. There is nothing concrete.

  28. Sadiq Khan, the guy who has never drunk alcohol because he is <censored>, appoints a nightlife czar, who ends up shutting venues down.

    He also makes police appointments and recommendations that result in enormous levels of unpoliced antisemitism.

    What a surprise. Who could have predicted this?

  30. I remember meeting and working briefly with Amy Lame many years when she was new to London and there was always something that was strange about how she judges people around her and was either nice to them to get what she wanted or hated someone because they was not useful for her career
    But I could never work out how she could work with Danny Baker on radio London back then because he is everything most lesbian activists would hate
    but hey ho not my problem I moved on from being a working colleague back then

    so since this new story has broken I have done a little digging on Amy wife and found that her wife Jennie Hogan is a student vicar of some sort living in subsidised housing despite being registered as a director of Amy company
