Hi everybody! I’m planning a road trip in Bulgaria for this summer. The plan is to get a rental car in Sofia and start the trip as described in the picture. What interesting points do you recommend to see within this path?
Visit Plovdiv and Veliko Turnovo
Im doing a similar trip but for 6 days. If you can visit a few of the Thracian tombs you will love it they are on the way from sofia to Veliko Tarnovo. Also if you have time to go down to Nessebar its a pretty cool place. Used to be a Roman fishing village and a port. DM me if you want some more suggestions i can give you names and addresses.
Not a bad trip at all! If you can, visit Nessebar and if you have the time for a detour go to the mountain in between the two yellow lines and visit Etara and the Shipka monument. As others mentioned, Veliko Tarnovo and Plovdiv are a must
Def hit Plovdiv
Definitely take the underbalkan road instead of the highway from Plovdiv to Sofia! It’s called подбалкански път
