I had an exam to write and couldn’t attend class today. I emailed the course coordinator as I was told to do so by the head of the department. I waited until last night and honestly just forgot about it and remembered she never responded. So in a panic to get my absence excused, I emailed the professor in charge of teaching today’s class.

This is how she responded when I emailed her. Yes, I emailed at her at midnight but so what? I’ve had professors respond to me in the weekends, at midnight, at 3:00 am. Isn’t this the point of emails? You can respond at your convenience. What’s her problem? This is so strange coming from a country where stuff like this would get you fired. Is this normal and I shouldn’t bother reporting her or should I report her because this was so unprofessional?

  1. Jezus my eyes. I think I got a stroke from reading that.

  2. No, it’s not normal. I had been sending emails at any time and never got a response like this. It looks like ego issues. She is not obliged to even read your email when she’s not at work.

You have to be careful about reporting issues like this. Some professors may seek revenge.

  3. Respond with a link to a tutor in how to write in English

  4. So what’s your problem apart from the professor’s substandard English?

  5. just drunk I think…

if not then damn… how did she get the professor title when she doesn’t even know basic interpunction😭😭😭😭

you got the email, so maybe report it somewhere. The school management should know what professionals they’re hiring and paying to.
