Ingenious way for the owner to funnel money to the right people for services unknown without being accused of bribery.
It fills the gap left by Russia Today at least.
Ofcom really need to get off their arse and address this. I’m surprised it’s not a bigger deal in the media. Can you imagine the field day the right wing press would have with this if it was some new channel spending that much getting labour MPs on to talk shop?
People being invited onto shows to be interviewed don’t tend to get paid by those channels. Bringing up JRM and Lee Anderson as if it’s equivalent (when they present shows) is a bit disingenuous.
They obviously have too much time on their hands to serve the needs of their constituents. Serving themselves is clearly okay though- time for an election so we can get rid of this lot for a generation…
GB News is basically just a money laundering front at this point.
So the big question that has to be asked is who is funding GB news?
>Lee Anderson, who was hired as a Tory MP but is an independent since losing the whip at the weekend over alleged Islamophobic comments, is on a salary of £100,000 a year, plus £50 extra a month to display a GB News logo on his X profile page.
That last part almost feels like the most egregious aspect of it. The fact that an MP can take money to advertise a brand is absolutely shocking.
The Tory party is just a very elaborate pyramid scheme, and we are all at the bottom.
No one is watching and it’s losing money.
Just another way of buying influence along with paying for lectures no-one listens to or the free Wimbledon or cup final tickets or the hospitality…..
Other professions need to demonstrate that there is no conflict of interest or the appearance of conflict.
Don’t few Tory MP’s have shows and things on the channel?
Meanwhile it has been launching the anti Tory party Reform UK
How can they be so absolutely flagrant about this behaviour whilst people struggle to know where their next meal comes from, let alone how they’re going to keep the lights on.
Oh that’s fine though. Tories are allowed to control the media narrative.
Vaughan Gething (Welsh Labour) ……..has had a £200k donation for the Welsh Labour leadership contest from a single sponsor ……who has been convicted of environmental pollution offences.
Mark Drakeford (Welsh Labour) has ruled that this was ok ………
