I have to wonder if the defense thought they could stretch these hearings out, or did they truly believe this guy had the goods or would lie under oath for them? Or are they just trying to taint the jury pool? Also, when does this particular sideshow end?

I have an answer: distraction and smear gone bad & our ruby brotherhood is too entrenched to extract themselves, so they hope the smear worked (playing to a base they’ve already won).

He should lose his law license because clearly he should not be practicing law and should be liable for civil damages to Willis as well as potentially criminal charges if he perjured himself.

Essentially they’re arguing that because two people on the same side have/had a close relationship, they can’t be involved in the case because it would be unfair to the other side. Conflicts usually come up when there is a relationship with the judge, or a juror, or even the other side (in limited circumstances) because there is a concern that their relationship could give them an unfair advantage. In this case there is no possible unfair advantage because they were already on the same side. At the absolute most, maybe it should be sent to an ethics board for a review, but it doesn’t affect this case in the slightest.
To put it in football terms, it would be like claiming a game was fixed because a coach bribed his own quarterback to win. If it was bribing the ref, or an opposing player that would be one thing, but his quarterback is already going to try to win.
Not according to Fox News this morning. They’re still going on as if there’s a strong case here. It’s been interesting to see the way they present “news” on that channel every day at the Rec Center while I get my exercise in. It’s a completely different reality they present there.

1 – delay, which was Trump does with all of his charges/cases
2 – give his moronic base a reason to claim “rigged” when he’s found guilty
