This looks like a ‘learning experience’ for the company involved.
Got to feel for the actors having to work with so little to go on and deal with the (understandably) angry families on top of it.
The company running this was incorporated in November and has one director. That same director is the only one for two other companies (one of which sells AI generated books) both incorporated since August 2023 and based out of offices in Shoreditch.
Dodgy bloke looking to make fast money.
There’s been a few of these types of things come about post covid. Half arsed events which sell themselves alongside large movies or books and offer nothing for families or children. After the fact the companies are never to be heard of again. I think “refund” is purely because the police were involved and its in the press. But really anyone with a mobile phone can call themselves an event organiser
If anyone can get their hands on the ’15 pages of AI generated gibberish` that was this guy’s Wonka script, I’d love that.
The real Willy Wonka is very busy at this time of year. This guy is one of his helpers who goes to different towns to fucking ~~murder~~ *industrial accident* all the belligerent little children.
This entire story is just a rabbit hole.
e.g. The liberal sprinkling of (TM) trademark indicators everywhere on the website – some actually registered, some not. And of those some registered under slightly wrong company name and address. Whoops.
>Any resemblance to any character, fictitious or living, is purely coincidental.
The Willy Wonka themed event **coincidentally** resembles Willy Wonka trademarks? Not sure Warner Bros is gonna buy that one…
Overall though, points for enterpreneurial ambition though.
This is going to be the segment of Big Fat Quiz 2024 where the kids reenact the scene isn’t it?
Someone posted a video on r/publicfreakout of angry parents confronting the owner of the event. He spoke for a minute then ran inside to hide behind the bouncers.

The website for the event is [still up](https://willyschocolateexperience.com/), and it’s pretty wild.
