Remember the first time i went to Tallinn in the early 2000s. It was horrible. Full of beggars, run down buildings in the city center, scammers, prostitutes.
The whole city was a shit-show, and this was supposed to be the capital city? Three hours on the ferry, the school tought us that estonians are our bretherns, and this is Estonia? It was low-key a scary and depressing city for me back then. They even charged us for the ketchup in McDonalds, 1 krooni per pack. Wow?
Did not return until about the 2010s, at that time it looked just like Helsinki, in some places even better and modern. Wow, what a progress.
Until I took the tram for a few stops to Koopli and i was reminded what a shit show Estonia is. Estonians, dont only fix your capital city like the Russian do, fix the countryside aswell.
I was there in September 2022. Beautiful city
The older commy view is already tainted by 2 odd buildings, so adding a few extra doesn’t change a lot.
