This actually exempts a whole lot of California businesses but I guess you can’t make as much hay talking about Boudin or small bakeries.
Such a dumb exemption. EVERY fast food place is suddenly going to be offering a single bread item on their menu. No smartly run business will be effected by this law.
We must hold ALL politicians accountable. Not just the ones who we don’t like
Misleading title. This wasn’t a Newsome bill but a compromise he added to a bill he didn’t like in order to sign it. It exempts almost everyone from bagel stores to little Caesar’s. Any restaurant that puts bread on your table to start the meal now just needs to charge a buck for it. Headline should be more like “$20 minimum wage advocates’ blunder fails restaurant workers”.
