  1. When I thought of bots I always thought of Russia. But it seems Saudi Arabia is just behind them. Depp has always been disgusting.

Not really news to me, but great that someone talks about it has actual facts to proof it.

  2. always thought it was strange how much the “justice for Depp!” crowd seemingly vanished overnight after the court case. There’s a reason why (despite his “win”) Hollywood still won’t work with him, he’s a miserable drunk who can get hostile towards PAs. He did settle out of court for a separate assault incident

  3. [Here is another article which digs deeper in what the podcast is about.](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13127929/social-media-bots-Saudi-government-jury-Johnny-Depp-Amber-Heard.html)

«*On the surface, they look like genuine Johnny Depp fans. Their social-media accounts are filled with pictures of the Hollywood star, and they tweet up to 20 times a day, praising Depp and trashing his former wife, Amber Heard*.

*Except these accounts aren’t run by genuine fans at all. The evidence suggests they’re controlled by paid, human trolls — with links to the Saudi government*.»

«*Before the U.S. trial, thousands of pro-Depp accounts sprang up on social media. Heard’s team suspected someone had hired ‘bots’ — automated accounts — to attack her and defend Depp, but they could never prove it*.

*Yet were they right after all?*

*For months, I’ve been investigating whether Heard was subjected to an organised trolling campaign and, if so, who was responsible. The results are released today in Who Trolled Amber?, a six-part podcast for Tortoise*.

*We have found evidence that, in the run-up to the trial, more than **50 per cent of all the tweets that criticised Amber Heard were ‘inauthentic**’.»*

  4. “I wasn’t punching you, I was hitting you. I don’t remember the actual motion of my hand but I didn’t fucking deck you- I was hitting you but I didn’t hurt you -you’re such a baby ” Amber Heard to Johnny Depp.

Depp to Heard”When you get violent we need to separate ” Amber: “No we don’t. You always walk away when we’re fighting ”

Amber Heard: ” I can’t promise that it won’t happen again. God I just get so mad sometimes and I lose it”. She also said in her first interview after the trial that she still has love for him. Can’t imagine that she would if he actually did those things to her. She moved her friends and sister into his penthouses but tried to say she was isolated from her friends and family….they lived with her and not one of them testified to actually seeing him abuse her .

Amber Heard lost because she didn’t have actual evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Depp abused her. And anyone that thinks that Saudi Arabia hired bots to “take her down ” is a complete idiot. She ruined herself – she didn’t need bots to do that. She’s claimed to have moved on but here we are.

  5. Have you noticed some of his followers are all over Twitter complaining that they’re real people? Demonstrating that they have negative media literacy skills because that isn’t what the podcast is about. The use of bots shoved anti-Amber content in our faces. It got into our algorithms whether we were interested in this trial or not. We were all impacted by the inauthentic accounts. For some, the horror and pure terror that was happening to Amber was heartbreaking and terrifying. For others, it was a huge green light to gleefully abuse her on behalf of Depp. For some, it was just going along with the crowd, not realizing that they were being manipulated by an inauthentic bot campaign. I hope this podcast is just the start in terms of helping people to reflect on just why they were so content to like posts mocking abuse and rape testimonies. And just how easy it is to fool people into a hive mentality. This has, for this reason, always been why this is so much bigger than just DvH.

  6. I listened to all of this yesterday. The investigation basically confirms the suspicion I had all along. I make a point to look for contradicting opinions when I see online trends and had to work to find out the truth. That’s called a RED FLAG.

I’m also glad he specifically calls out That Brian Fella for editing the audiotape that made it look like Amber was the problem, which launched the manufactured hate campaign. We knew that when it was released, of course, but many people are still unaware of how far they went to use her words against her.

  7. I guess we know what Johnny Cokehead loves MBS so much

  8. It’s very gratifying to see the truth of this actually come to light. It was abhorrent what that creature did to her and to see him now cosied up with a Saudi dictator should be the final end of him. It’s very surprising to see it was actually Saudi’s doing it though I presumed he just paid a bot farm.
He’s sickening. What a vile excuse of a human he is.

  9. At some point the question has to be asked: at what point does “anyone who doesn’t share my views is a bot or foreign agent” stop being childish and start becoming actual lunacy?

Edit; downvote brigade within 1 minute of posting just proves my point. Paranoia bordering on mental illness- there is something at stake here for the people obsessed with the idea, as if any disagreement might shatter their worldview, so fragile it is.

  10. Amber Heard needs taking down? Her public court case did that already, right? Does she feed starving babies as a side gig or something that negates how vile she is?

Edit: instead of talking at me, can someone explain why Amber Heard is a good person? I didn’t watch or listen to any podcast about her, simply watched most of the trial, and both her and Depp seem like awful people.

Try having more of a discussion instead of “you don’t like my side, you must be in this group of people.”

  11. Johnny Depp fans are like Michael Jackson fans. He was amazing in his prime, but bring up personal problems and they will go into complete denial.

  12. I don’t think there’s a podcast full of material there, probably just the article is fine

  13. Makes sense, I can recall all the pro Depp sentiment and how adamantly people defended him and torched Heard. Not saying who was right or wrong in their court case but was an unreasonable amount of Johnny fans, sort of like Elon fans a while back.

  14. It was always weird how one sided the internet was on this. Like even if you believed him more, it was a fact that neither of them lied about everything
