What makes you say that? It cannot be the actual hundreds of videos of ballot fraud that come out every single election?
Legitimizing this so many years after it happened also trivializes it. Do you guys get that our current president was the minister of information (propaganda) under milosevic? Who is everyone kidding here?
Of course!
As daddy Putler told them to do it!
Finally, the EU acknowledges that elections in Serbia are rigged. Took em long enough.
Can we get occupied by USA pls. I’m tired of this country and government full of idiots
Like all elections in Serbia back to 2012.
No surprise there.
YOU DON’T SAY!?
it sounds a little bit off, can someone with knowledge of serbian politics explain the details? the ruling party always has “systemic advantages”, it does not make elections rigged or undemocratic
was there any actual cheating involved? like, you know, preventing observers from watching the counting process, throwing in fake ballots, etc.? because if there was, i don’t understand why it isn’t in the headlines instead of that “favoring one party” stuff (what does that even mean?)
The Serbs are not well served by this election
In Serbia ?!! No way !
The report falls short of declaring the government’s win to be illegitimate.
**Which makes it a nothingburger.**
Brnabic is right. The report makes the opposition look like idiots.
Despite criticizing certain things, the ODIHR report repeatedly praises the elections with quotes such as:
*”Fundamental freedoms were generally respected in the campaign…”*
*”While media covered all electoral contestants…”*
*”Election day was smoothly conducted…”*
*”Overall, the legal framework provides an adequate basis for the conduct of democratic elections.”*
*”Despite challenges posed by the short timelines for early elections, the concurrent organization of local
elections, the election administration efficiently conducted the electoral preparations.”*
*”Most ODIHR EOM interlocutors did not raise concerns about the inclusiveness of voter lists.”*
**”Freedoms of expression and assembly were generally respected in the campaign, and the elections offered voters a choice between genuine political alternatives.”**
I bolded that last one because it clearly implies that elections were essentially legitimate. Vucic and SNS are the legitimate government of Serbia according to ODIHR. The irregularities are not enough to throw that into doubt according to ODIHR, and this is quite clear from the report. Not that it really matters, the voters on both sides won’t read it and will just keep consuming media from their bubbles telling them that the conclusions back their side. But the opposition really needs to wake up.
This report is very much in favor of Vucic.
Things aren’t bad enough for quality people to take interest in becoming politicians, or worse – they’re dead/moved away. There’s no one to vote for, that’s the real issue.
