Watching Alex Wagner now and her guest just put forth the theory that certain justices have done this all on purpose because they want to retire. And of course they want Trump to appoint their replacements.

Sadly, in the election this year, you have people trying to “both sides” this, or worse, spread misinformation about Biden (Alexander Smirnov feeding Russian propaganda to the Republicans), to help Trump win another term. Not only would Trump further stack the SCOTUS with more ultra right wing judges, but he will certainly pardon himself for all the federal indictments he is under, and then try to finally kill democracy so that he can stay in power.

Everyone should remember this fact… On December 8th 2000 when Florida issued a recount of votes for the presidential election, the Bush campaign asked the supreme court to stop it. By December 12th the Supreme Court basically handed the election to Bush. It took them 3 DAYS to make the decision. Fast forward to now, Jack Smith asked the Supreme Court In December to decide if Trump can be a dictator and their answer is “we will hear the arguments in April and let you know around June”. This court is going to be a cancer eating away at this country for decades to come.
How can we the people put pressure on the Supreme Court to speed this up? Protests? This is BS!!!

They definitely rule against him on this one (but for him on the 14th amendment case at the same time, as obviously holding office is different than running for office /s), especially because they don’t want to enable Democratic presidents. But they accomplish enough with this to protect him already by delaying federal trial results until after the election, at which point they hope he will have won and be in position to pardon himself. Infuriating, outrageous, and tragically predictable due to their clear corruption and lack of care for legal legitimacy. They’ve already broken precedent (Dobbs) and standing (Biden v Nebraska, and others), they’re looking to break the regulatory state and protect Trump as much as they expect they can get away with publicly.

I’m pretty pissed about it not gonna lie. Not that I ever really lie actually anyway, just sayin. I’m not happy that trump is always crying about being a victim and he has no idea wtf it’s really like. He’s fucking guilty of his shit and they all know it. But the law will go out of their fucking way to destroy the lives of poor people like myself with no delays. Yet this MF is treated as a special case that nobody else would ever get. I really don’t have faith in the American justice system at all. And I question why if they don’t end up holding him accountable like they should.
