Good. Olaf Scholz doesn‘t do everything wrong, support is going up, but in key questions that carry a lot of publicity he does in my view.
What this „blunder“ is about, I have no idea.
Let’s be clear wghat has happened here. This is “a flagrant abuse of intelligence…” in other words Scholz has gone an given away an ongoing secret UK-Ukraine operation just to defend his position. It is absolutely unforgivable. The centre right-wing Christian Democrat opposition are quite right to call him out of this and say he can’t be trusted.
It’s a good thing the UK Conservative Government is pretty strong on this and hopefully the Labour opposition too. If not this could have led to calls by some in the UK to withdraw specialist missile troops from Ukraine.
So what if there are UK troops in Ukraine anyway. Some Germans need to get over the fact they were once warmongers. Yes they were on the wrong side in WW2 in the fight for democracy… just make sure you’re firmly on side of democracy this time. Atoning for past sins will not be achieved by sitting on the fence this time round. SUPPLY THE MISSILES!

I read the article and the one linked in the article itself. Maybe my english isn’t good enough but i fail to see where scholz said that british soldiers are helping firing the missiles. Seems a bit far fetched imho.

The good side of this shit show: he talked a taboo topic and now other heads of state coming forward to talk about foot on the ground. It doesn’t have to be combat deployment. Maintenance, hospital staff, logistics, engineering… all this can be supported without fighting the Russians directly.

The last Poll i read had about 70% of people in support of carrying on supplying Ukraine with kit and financial aid and only about 37% supporting boots on the ground.
The quickest way to erode that support even more is for serving troops, dying in a war that the general British population does not want us fighting in.

It is insane that the Germans stated this. This guy is an idiot. He could have just said, we are retaining our supplies in the case of a conflict with Russia. Instead of that very believable story, he outed his allies as operating inside of Ukraine.
That admission will just escalate the situation more so… The very thing he states he is trying to avoid. Utter nonsense.
At this point, leaders on both sides of the table want war, just in different fashions. Putin wants war as he is malicious and is trying to make a name for himself. Our leaders in the west inadvertently want war due to their ineptitude and lack of commitment.
