  1. Oh no, so sad. I love the Hairy Bikers. You’ll be missed Mr Myers RIP.

  2. A massive loss. I absolutely love episodes of the Hair Bikers coming on Saturday Kitchen. He was on not that long ago I think… what a loss…

  3. These made some of the best UK based cooking content. They seemed to be really good friends IRL as well, which helped with their chemistry and sense of fun on screen. I thought he’d gone into remission with them returning to TV, so it’s sad to see he’s passed.

  4. RIP Dave. What an awful loss. He always came across as a wonderful bloke.

  5. All the best, Dave RIP .Keep ya chin up. Si, you have fantastic memories .Great tv Lad’s many thanks.

  6. Very sad. As a pair they were icons of wholesome male friendship and individually both seemed like lovely blokes.

  7. Aw gutted 😔 What a friendly bloke. Feel bad for Si, he’s gona be grieving for a while 😢

  8. Loved the clip of Dave explaining that his Nan used her false teeth to crimp the edges of Cornish pasties and the look on Si’s face was priceless.

  9. Genuinely gutted. The best TV chefs of my generation. I learned so much from their shows.

Watching their new series the other day makes this hit harder as you could see how happy they were to be doing it again.

  10. Absolutely devastated. Floored. I used to love watching them and they inspired my love of cooking. I was about to get tickets for one of their shows this year and I still might in the hope that I can go and remember him. Fuck Cancer in the eye with a rusty boot spur.

  11. I’m absolutely gutted. He was a fantastic broadcaster whose down-to-earth personality helped create some of the most watchable and accessible cookery programming on television. He’ll be very sorely missed.

  12. Such terrible news. My 4 year old loves watching the hairy bikers and I’ve always let him because Dave and Si represent the best of us. RIP.

  13. Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk 🙁

  14. It’s not very often I care about celebs passing but I’m genuinely sad about this one. A great presenter, and seemed like a lovely , down to earth gent. RIP 🙁

  15. This is sad, he seemed to be doing so well too with getting back on the saddle and enjoying what they do best.

    RIP

  16. Me and my terminally ill dad were just watching their show on Monday night and talking about how he still looked sick but it was great he was able to do another series. I’m not one for cookbooks but I have a few of theirs and they never let you down, simple but delicious food

  17. Dam, thought he was getting better or in remission. Love watching their shows, their cooking type was none of that arty farty or Jamie Oliver nonsense just simple homely cooking.

  18. Oh no, that’s terrible. Always seemed such a nice bloke.

  19. I have so many of their cook books it’s going to be weird not seeing him around on TV anymore my thoughts are with his wife lil and obviously si his best friend the last TV series they did was called go west and it reminded me of the end of lord of the rings when frodo goes west on a new adventure i hope where ever he is now there are bikes beers and an open road

  20. Aw man. For some reason I was under the impression he was recovering. Wasn’t he out and about filming not so long ago? Cancer really is fucking shite.

  21. This is really sad, he was a really jolly wholesome chap who shared some proper British food stories. Thought he was past the worst of it, RIP.

  22. They were the chuckle brothers of cooking shows.

  23. this hits hard. I used to watch them all the time, even as a child. They were just so interesting and naturally entertaining. This is really sad to hear.

  24. I lost a shitload of weight by using the Hairy Dieter’s cookbooks. These guys were very much an inspiration on my weight loss journey.

A great guy. Such sad news. 🙁

  25. Really sad to hear that.

A friend of mine runs a vegan cafe in Norwich whose tofu was featured on their show a couple of years ago and she said they were every bit as friendly as they came across as on TV and showed a genuine interest in her products.

  26. This is such terrible news. A genuinely nice and likeable bloke who made cooking programmes funny and interesting to watch.

  27. Real shame. Hairy Bikers was one of the last few decent shows on TV and both of them are/were great characters.

  28. Very sad news, genuinely loved their cooking shows and the passion they showed for it.

  29. What a shame, such a gentle and entertaining guy. RIP.

  30. How sad. Saw Si at the good food show recently, it just wasn’t the same without Dave.

  31. Gutted. They had really good chemistry and you could tell they were great mates and really just having fun when they were making the programs.

  32. Top geezer. Saddest I’ve been about a celeb death for a long while. I feel really sorry for his family and friends. Him and Si made great television and seemed like lovely blokes. What a friendship to aspire to. I particularly loved their series in the North of England. It was a real love letter to their home regions. I’ll have to watch this recent West Coast one, although I’ll probably shed a tear thinking of Dave.

  33. Damn, I’m genuinely sad. I’m not normally bothered by celebrity deaths, but his has hit me.

  34. Genuinely heartbroken. These two where such a healthy example of not only male friendship but an outlook on the world. They got me into cooking as a child, thoughts go to all his family, Si and their friends

  35. Sad news. One of the few celebrities chefs that actually seemed genuine and to really appreciate his work.
